E53: Development of the crystal lattice parameter identification method based on the gradient steepest descent method

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a new method to solve a problem of crystal lattice parameter identification. The developed method is based on applying the gradient steepest descent method. We also offer a solution to the problem of ambiguous selection of the Bravais unit cells. It is a crystal lattice similarity metric based on the lattice nesting criterion. A research of the developed algorithms and metric is conducted using the Bravais unit cell parameter similarity measures. The experimental results show a significant increase in the crystal lattice parameter identification accuracy for all seven crystal systems.
